The last Parliamentary Friendship Group for Better Cities event for 2019 looks at ‘Research and Practice from Australia’s Fast Growing Outer Suburbs.

Hosted on this occasion by the National Growth Areas Alliance, fast growing Australian cities of 100,000 or more residents, this is a topical subject for the entire nation which is experiencing very strong population growth.

We Ride Australia will be there as a foundation supporting partner for the event to which all MPs, Senators and Advisors in the House are invited. Our engagement helps to places bicycle issues and development at the heart of the national debate for better cities – something we have been doing for over 20 years.

The Member for Wentworth Dave Sharma, Member for Scullin Andrew Giles and Senator for Victoria Janet Rice are Co-Convenors for the forum on ideas and discussion on how to make Australia’s capital and major cities more liveable, more resilient and more productive.

We Ride Australia extends an invitation to all our members to join us at each event, it’s a chance to be part of our national advocacy efforts direct to our elected Parliamentarians.  We’re one of the fifteen national peak bodies who support this group.
