We Ride Australia is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Scott Taylor to the Board of Directors of We Ride Australia.

With significant experience in delivery of major infrastructure projects with international consulting firms and his current role as the Engineering Director for Major Roads Projects Victoria, Scott brings a wealth of knowledge in the strategic and governance approaches governments use to plan, fund and deliver major infrastructure.

In addition to responsibility for design and project delivery, Scott fulfills leadership roles in national transport committees and has a focus on the development and delivery of industry training and professional pathways initiatives.

“I am very pleased to be able to bring my experience in planning, design, risk management and delivery of transport infrastructure to the Board” Scott Taylor said.

Neelesh Mehta is Chair of the We Ride Board and welcomed the appointment of Laura Wilson.

“Scott’s experience in major infrastructure planning and delivery is a huge boost to the expertise of the Board of We Ride Australia.

“His technical skills and government experience at senior levels are vital for a national Foundation seeking to drive change with senior bureaucrats and decision makers and Parliamentarians nationally,

“The announcement of our last Board recruitment is a significant milestone for We Ride Australia as our three new Directors join the Board to take the Foundation to the next level of national advocacy for bicycles in Australia,

“Our national recruitment process was conducted through the Australian Institute of Company Directors and direct approaches and resulted in huge interest nationally with many highly experienced and recognised executives seeking appointment,

“We are humbled by the interest from so many fantastic people in the work of the Foundation and feel it confirms We Ride’s strategic approach and activities are on the mark” said Chair Neelesh Mehta.

Scott Taylor joins We Ride Australia Board

Scott Taylor joins the Board of Management of the We Ride Australia Foundation.

Scott is currently the Engineering Director at Major Road Projects Victoria and has held leadership roles within both the public and private transport infrastructure sector.

Scott is recognised for his sound leadership and management skills, combined with strong technical skills specialising in assessment, strengthening, maintenance and asset management strategies for existing transport structures.

Working in the transport infrastructure sector, Scott has always been an advocate for great provision of bicycle infrastructure across the transport network during his professional career. His strong background in planning, design and delivery of transport infrastructure brings a very high level of understanding on decision making within government entities to the work of We Ride Australia.

As the father of two young sons and keen weekend rider Scott is focused on ensuring that transport infrastructure is safe and easily accessible to all bike riders.
