WeRide Australia is the leading voice promoting and encouraging cycling, and an advocate for policies and investments to make cycling accessible, safe and convenient

The vision our Directors and Executive team are working towards is making Australia a greener, healthier, better place to be because more people are riding bikes!

Working with partners, other national peak bodies and bicycle organisations, WeRide Australia aims to secure the policies, infrastructure and programs that ensure cycling contributes to healthy, safe and enjoyable communities across the country.

While Covid-19 has been challenging for many businesses, some positivity has come out of it, especially for the bike industry. Cycling has been booming and kept us incredibly busy, so you will be stepping into an organisation that is continuing to expand and thrive, despite difficult times for most other industries.

In fact, in June 2021, we commissioned EY to conduct the very first study estimating the economic contribution of the cycling industry to Australia – finding a direct output of $6.3 billion dollars.

We’re now looking to appoint an additional, non-executive director to the Board with Financial and Accounting acumen, who can also sit on the Finance Sub-Committee.

We are seeking a director with a strong background in budgeting, financial management and accounting experience who have a genuine interest and commitment to WeRide Australia’s vision and purpose.

It is desirable if the potential director has a strong network who can help support our mission.

As well as having a background in budgeting, financial management and accounting, WeRide is looking for directors who capability in;

  • Big picture thinking;
  • Problem solvers;
  • Integrity and social responsibility;
  • Interpersonal skills, and;
  • Business networks.

To express your interest, please provide a profile of no more than two pages outlining your potential contribution as a non-executive director, addressing the key capabilities of WeRide Australia and citing relevant experience.
